Saturday, In McCall

Saturday, my guy was out on a run, my son was running a booth at the State Fair, and I drove up to McCall to visit with my parents, who have stayed there most of the summer, and my aunt and uncle. My aunt and uncle were up from Hanford, California, enjoying a relaxing couple of weeks at the Ponderosa State Park in McCall. We had a wonderful campfire lunch bar-b-que and potluck. After visiting for a couple of hours, I went photo shooting around town and the beaches of the Payette Lake. Then, drove the 100 mile trek home along the Payette River. It was pretty late in the day, but I still found a few river rafters.

And Then There Were None...

The first to go was Betty. You can see her blanky and bah-ba, setting on the table behind her, all folded and ready to go.

Then, within the hour, Sammy... ...and Timmy were gone too.

They all took a blanky and a couple of toys that smell like mom and home, a bag of food, and some "puppy training" info. It's hard to let them go sometimes.

Puppies & Summer

I cannot believe how fast this summer has gone by. With only a few weeks left before Fall officially begins, the feel in the air is starting to change. There's been a couple of cooler mornings recently, almost fall like. It's a cool 79 out today, but has been in the 90's all week.

This is Sadie. She's a year and a half old now, the puppy we kept from last year's litter. What a character she is! See that rag toy? That's her Santa, and don't even try to take it away from her. lol It's amazing how these little guys physically change so much during their first year.

I'm feeling a bit sad. You see, tomorrow my puppies will be 8 weeks old and going to their new homes. Their new families are so excited, they can barely stand the wait. These families have been counting down the days. I took this whole week off work knowing it would be the puppies' last week with us. I've been playing and training with them, all week.

This is Betty, Black Betty, bam-ba-lam.... She is going home to live with a half sister who is just a couple of months older than her. The girls have the same dad. I'm so happy Betty will not be alone all day, and that she's going to have someone to play with.

And, here's the boys... Sammy and Tiny Tim. Aren't they cute!? That's Sammy on the right. The gal that adopted Timmy, couldn't stand it and decided to adopt Sammy too. She didn't want them to end up alone all day.

The next couple of photos were taken with a cell phone camera, that doesn't really do the job...

I'm so happy the puppies all have wonderful homes to go to. If I didn't already have so many dogs, I would seriously think about keeping Tiny Tim... he's got such a great personality. Oh! They all do! But, they say, when picking out a new dog, get down on the floor with them, let the dog pick you... that's the one you want. And, I think, Tim has picked me!

Five Weeks Old...

Aren't they cute!? The puppies are 5 weeks old now and romping around, playing all the time. They are so darn cute, I can barely stand it.

Update on my computer... It died! I have lost most all my digital photos, and I am just sick! I did a backup to cd's about a year ago, so I do have those from before then. Tonight, I checked my camera memory sticks, thinking maybe, just maybe, I hadn't deleted them... they hold nearly 400 photos. They're gone too. I remember deleting the memory sticks after making sure I had downloaded all of the photos onto my computer. ARGH!!! Okay, enough whining... I will backup my photos from now on, saving them in different places, so if this happens again, I'll be able to reload them from somewhere else. Hard way to learn this lesson.
