McCall, Idaho... a quaint, mountain lake town, one of my favorites places on earth.
It has been the hottest summer on record, here the Boise area. We haven't had rain in since early this spring. The thunder storms that do roll through here are dry with dry lightening, starting most of our fires. I think there are 18 major fires in Idaho right now, the State's on fire!
This weekend, I drove the 100 miles to McCall, through beautiful Idaho country to visit with my parents. They try to spend at least a month in McCall each summer. Here's photos of just three fires surrounding Payette Lake...
There are many more fires raging through Idaho's back country, and some fires burning very close to populated areas.
This little guy teased our dogs for a good hour, running up and down the tree, back and forth across the fence line in the back of our yard! Yorkies being "ratters" had a field day trying to catch this sly squirrel. Of course, the squirrel drove the dogs nuts, teasing them like that! He finally ran off into the neighbor's yard where the dogs couldn't see him.
Born and raised in California, moving to Idaho in 1992. I'm the proud parent of young adults; a 32 yr old daughter, a 24 yr old son with two beautiful grandbabies, a girl and a boy. I work fulltime outside the home, day dreaming of travel while behind a desk all day. Oh! And we have a houseful of Yorkies, a herd of Yorkies!
