Thank God It's Friday...

"Welcome to winter, Idaho. The Treasure Valley is expected to see blowing snow today, more snow each day through Monday and then temperatures possibly dipping below zero — that's right, below zero — by late next week." from today's Idaho Statesman Newspaper.

Snow flurries. It's 34 degrees out right now, wind is blowing snow sideways. With the wind chill, it's 14 degrees. The snow is melting when it hits the ground. Our forecast says we'll wake up to two to four inches of the white stuff by morning.

Today, I took all four dogs to work with me. I normally take Rodney and Peanut, but today they were all scheduled for a grooming this afternoon. With the Severe Weather Warnings this morning, I didn't want to have to drive all the way back home at lunch time to pick up Lucy and Molly to come half way back to the groomers.

The gals at work were delighted to see Lucy and Molly. Some of the gals had only seen pictures them, others hadn't seen Molly since late last spring. It's been even longer since they've seen Lucy. We, my guy and I, used to bring Harley and Lucy to work with us all the time. (Yes, my guy used to work for me, with me, evenings and weekends, and we always brought Harley, and then Lucy too, when we got her.)

We never received the snow that was expected this morning, and I was able to get to the groomer without much fuss. Though, what a sight it must of been, trying to get all four of them from the parking lot to the shop in wind and blowing snow. The store manager helped me out to the car when I came to pick the pups up after work.

The pups all look so pretty and smell so nice! I tried to get some new photos of them, showing off their new do's. But they were all moving too quickly and my photos are turning out as big blurs. I'll have to try for more tomorrow when I have more patience.

My guy just phoned. He's shut down in Durkee, OR. It's a blizzard out there. The Interstate is closed. He had planned to be home tonight. Looks like he'll be spending the night out on the road and be home tomorrow.

SNow and more snow. Geez, I remember when my husband and I went trucking. The trips I remember the most were the horrific nightmares in winter. Hope your guy gets home safely. *Barb* http://journals.aol.com/barbpinion/HEYLETSTALK

Where do you work that you can take your dogs with you? How nice! You must either own the company or are the boss, I am guessing! We have some more snow, this morning. I am going nowhere! JAE

Sounds like where I live, we've been under severe winter storm warning since Thursday night and won't be lifted until early Tues. morn, so much snow! Most major roads in/out of area have been closed since Friday, airport having lots of delays or cancellations. Not much fun.

We got just enough snow on Christmas to make me consider moving further north. LOL Snow in South Texas? It just doesn't happen. So it was like a Christmas miracle. :D I can't say I envy those who deal with it on a constant basis, though. Those of you who have to work in it, drive in it, build your lives around it. Agg. Too bad about the blurry pics. I would have loved to see them. :D
